How to log in to your WE router?

To access your router’s settings, you need to log in to the router’s web interface. Make sure your device is connected to the router, either via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi. Then, follow these steps:

  • Open a web browser on your computer or mobile device. It can be Chrome, Firefox, Edge or whatever you prefer.
  • In the address bar, type http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.8.1 and press Enter. These are the default IP addresses for accessing the WE Router Login.
  • You will be prompted for a username and password. This data is usually printed on a label on the back or bottom of the router.

Enter the default username and password. If you have not changed them before, usually the username is admin and the password is also admin or a combination printed on the router. After entering the data, click “Login” or “Log in”.

Your browser may display a security warning message. If this happens, you can proceed as follows:

  • In Chrome, click “Advanced” and then “Access 192.168.1.1 (not secure)”.
  • In Edge, select “Details” and then “Go to web page (not recommended)”.
  • In Firefox, click “Advanced” and then “Accept risk and continue”.

Once you are logged in, you will be inside the configuration panel of your WE router.

Troubleshooting common problems when accessing the router

You may encounter some issues when trying to access your router’s configuration panel. Here are some tips on how to solve them:

Error message when accessing the IP address: If when entering 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.8.1 you receive an error message, it is possible that your browser is blocking access for security reasons. Follow the instructions I mentioned above for each browser.

Incorrect user and password: If the default data does not work, check the label on the back of the router or refer to the device manual. It is possible that the credentials have been changed previously.

I cannot connect to the router: Make sure your device is properly connected to the router. If it is via Wi-Fi, verify that you are connected to the corresponding network. If it is by cable, check that the cable is properly connected.

If after trying these steps you still have problems, consider restarting the router or contact WE Telecom Egypt customer service for further assistance.
